Looking at China : A Sea of Peach Blossoms Delights Visitors
On March 2nd, at the foot of Mount Nanwudang in Wudang Town, Longnan City, Jiangxi Province, China, a spring scenery greeted tourist’s eyes. Nearly 1,650 acres of peach trees blossomed alongside newly planted rapeseed flowers near the village, forming an amazing rural landscape with villages, mountains, and farmland. The pink peach blossoms and yellow rapeseed flowers have become the most beautiful colors of spring in Longnan. Tourists took photos and selfies in this fairyland, or ride the sightseeing tram "Dream " to shuttle through the sea of flowers.
Since ancient times, China has had the custom of enjoying peach blossoms in spring, with numerous poets leaving behind everlasting classics. Longnan City has a long history of planting peach trees, and currently has formed a peach forest covering 1,650 acres, attracting a large number of tourists every year. On March 2nd, the local area held the Peach Blossom Festival under the theme "Spring at South Wudang, Fascinating Hakka Castles", featuring eight special activities and various traditional performances. Local and non-local tourists attracted by its reputation came in droves to experience the brilliance of spring.
